Hi! My name is Lo
In January 2013 when I was 20 years old I lost my mom Debbie to a long battle of alcoholism due to a brain aneurysm in 2001. My dad Fred raised me on his own from 2001 and it was him and I against the world. As an only child, my dad was my world. In December 2024 I found my dad dead in my childhood home. This shattered my world and changed everything.
I've been on a journey to continuously take care of their baby girl (aka me) while trying to still wrap my head around the fact that both my parents died before I even hit my mid thirties. What has helped me the most has been daily walks and daily grief yaps. Community and connection has been what has gotten me through this last year.
After joining 2 grief groups in 2025 I realized the importance of connection. Connecting to anyone who is experiencing grief; whether it be similar to mine (parental loss) or just any other grief in general. Connection matters. It's a lifeline in a world that can feel so lonely. We need more of this! More spaces to connect, to feel seen and heard by someone you don't need to be “okay” with.
Here you're not alone. Here you will find a space where you can yap about your loved one and know that someone gets it. We're in this together!
